Jose Mourinho provides all-important team news update ahead of West Ham United game

The opening Premier League weekend has officially begun, and finally, we have  top-level English football to look forward to every single week. Manchester United take on West Ham United at the Theatre of Dreams, and I cannot wait to see our boys in action.

Jose Mourinho has met the media ahead of the eagerly anticipated kick-off, and amongst the topic of discussion was the current injury situation at Old Trafford.

Right now, the only injuries we currently have are the guys that will be out for the long-term; Luke Shaw, Ashley Young and Marcos Rojo. Outside of those three, everyone else is fit and ready to go.

“Everyone is available except the injuries that everybody knows, so the injuries that come from the previous season with surgeries.” Jose Mourinho told reporters, including ManUtd.com.

“[We have] one more reason to be happy because, in this pre-season, we didn’t lose any player. Every one of the 22, plus the goalkeepers, that started the pre-season is ready for Premier League match one.”

It feels like our squad is finally looking in pretty decent shape at the start of a season, which must be a massive boost for Mourinho. At times last term, we had so many players out injured on a constant basis, and that seems to be one of the real issues that the self-proclaimed Special One is trying to fix.

Hopefully, we’ll have both Luke Shaw and Ashley Young back soon, and the only one we may be waiting for beyond, say, September, is Rojo due to the severity of the ligament damage that he suffered.
