Jose Mourinho provides vital injury update ahead of Celta Vigo grudge-match

Manchester United will be ready go to now, as their biggest game of the season is just on the horizon. The Old Trafford club take on Celta Vigo, with a spot in the Europa League final the prize for the eventual winner. With a slender advantage in our favour, we’re looking in good shape.

Ahead of the match, manager Jose Mourinho has been speaking to the media about a variety of topics, and one thing that the journalists seemed interested in was the injury situation.

There was mixed news regarding that, as the gaffer confirmed that everyone who is currently out injured is done for the season. However, the guys who are fit are roaring to go.

“Since the last injuries we know that nobody will recover on time, even to play the last match of the season, so the ones out will be out for the season,” Jose Mourinho is quoted as saying by United’s official site. “But people are ready, fresh, with a big desire to play the game.”

That means we’re without no fewer than five players for the rest of the campaign. Marcos Rojo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Luke Shaw, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and now Ashley Young.

With five games left to play providing we make the Europa League final, I’d expect to see plenty of changes made to the starting line-up for our remaining three Premier League fixtures.

This could well provide an opportunity for our talented youngsters to prove exactly what they can do, just look at how well Axel Tuanzebe did against Arsenal over the weekend; albeit his efforts were in vein.
