Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is doubtful to play against FC Basel at Old Trafford tomorrow night, as the big Belgian is currently struggling for fitness. Jose Mourinho confirmed that he didn’t train on Sunday, before adding ‘let’s see if he trains today’.
The self-proclaimed Special One confirmed the news during his usual pre-match press conference, and if I’m being honest, Mourinho didn’t seem too convinced about Fellaini’s chances for the match.
What will be positive for the former Everton midfielder is the fact that Mourinho labelled him a ‘very important’ player as you can see in the video below.

I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that he has been a game-changer at the start of this season. He had a positive impact against Real Madrid in the Super Cup and also got himself on the scoresheet against Leicester City as well.
To be without him is a blow because he does bring something different to the table and it gives Mourinho one less player to work with. Hopefully, he isn’t out of action for too long and we see him involved in the not too distant future.
