Paul Pogba has made a brilliant start to his second season back at Manchester United, and he had been an integral figure in our Premier League campaign – both scoring and assisting goals. However, it now looks as though we’ll be without him for a few weeks.
After the match, Jose Mourinho met the media and confirmed that the 24-year-old Pogba has a muscular injury, and it’ll stop the Frenchman playing for a few weeks…
“I don’t know [the extent]. I just know from experience it’s a muscular injury. In my experience, muscular injuries stop you from playing for a few weeks, I think.” Mourinho is quoted as saying by ManUtd.com.
This is a huge shame. For whatever reason, Pogba had his doubters last term, but he was well on his way to silencing them at the start of this year. What makes it even worse is the fact that it was his first time captaining Manchester United too, and he had to be hauled off before the match really got going.
He’ll now miss at least one key game with Everton visiting Old Trafford this weekend, before matches against both Burton Albion and Southampton in the Carabao Cup and the Premier League respectively.
Hopefully, Pogba can remain upbeat about the situation, rest up and get himself back out on the field as soon as possible, because we desperately need a player of his calibre.
