Jose Mourinho ready to offload key player to free wage space

Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho is planning big changes at the club already, with transfer rumours popping up left, right and centre. Alongside those incoming deals, players will have to leave to balance the books, and the club could be about to part with one of their big stars.

According to Duncan Castles for One World Sports, Jose Mourinho is trying to offload Juan Mata to clear some wage space, as well as making room for potential new signings.

It always felt as though the writing was on the wall for the 28-year old Spaniard as soon as Jose Mourinho was announced as manager. The pair never really got on at Chelsea, and it looks as though Mata won’t even get his chance to convince the manager of his abilities.

Duncan Castles also goes on to add that Manchester United have agreed a fee for defender Eric Bailly, and that Jose Mourinho also wants to add one more centre-back.
