Jose Mourinho has no issues with selling Anthony Martial this summer, with the club preferring the Frenchman heading across the continent; to either Juventus or Real Madrid.
That’s according to The Independent. They say that Manchester United wouldn’t want to let Martial go to either Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur; presumably as it could well come back to haunt them domestically.
News regarding Martial’s unhappiness emerged just a couple of days ago, and although the club would prefer the 22-year-old to stay, Mourinho wouldn’t be against the #11 leaving Old Trafford.
Ever since Alexis Sanchez’s arrival, I’ve felt like the writing has been on the wall for Martial. He was always going to get limited opportunities when the former Arsenal man arrived, and there simply just isn’t enough spaces on the team-sheet to keep everyone happy.
Obviously, everyone would prefer him to stick around, but I don’t think you can begrudge him a move elsewhere. Martial’s hungry, he wants to play football, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
It is encouraging to read that, if the worst does happen, he’ll likely be departing from the Premier League. With that said, I’ve no doubt he’ll flourish wherever he ends up.
