Manchester United Football Club plans to utilize Alexis Sanchez as a right-winger, a report from The Metro claims.
Jose Mourinho apparently wants to use the 29-year-old star on that side, in a three along with Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku. With Paul Pogba sitting in just behind, that’s a mouthwatering prospect for the Red Devils going forward, and that trio will be able to score goals against any defence in world football.
Obviously, no deal has been finalised yet but in my opinion, it’s looking likely to happen. Mourinho’s struggled for consistency on that right-hand side, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata all playing out there recently, but they’ve failed to make that spot in the team their own.
I think that if he does come in it makes sense to start him out on the right, but expect his position in the team to chop and change depending on certain situations – his versatility gives Mourinho plenty of options which is great, so don’t be surprised to see him drift all around the front line.
The pressure is now on Edward Woodward’s shoulders to get this deal over the line before the month ends, but, the sooner it goes through the better, as it’ll allow the Chile international more time to adapt to playing alongside his new teammates.
