Manchester United Football Club arguably play their biggest game of the season this evening, when they take on FC Rostov at Old Trafford for a place in the quarter-finals. The tie is finely poised at 1-1, but you’d have to give Mourinho’s men the advantage.
Ahead of the big game, The Sun have brought us some rather intriguing news. They say that the self-proclaimed Special One was involved in an ‘amazing’ bust-up with United’s fitness specialist, Carlos Lalin.
Apparently, the pair had to be separated after a ‘furious row’ before yesterday’s midday training session began. They say things got so heated that Ricardo Formosinho (another one of Jose’s staff), had to step in to ensure it didn’t go any further. Lalin then apparently headed back to his car and sped off from Carrington, whilst Mourinho continued to work.
Honestly, I have no idea what to make of this as we don’t really know the ins and outs of the conversation. It could have been football-based, it could have been personal, who knows?
At the end of the day, you’d imagine it was just a disagreement between two blokes, and I’ve no doubts that they’ll get over it and move on in the not too distant future.
Obviously, the timing isn’t ideal with the Rostov game coming this evening, but it shouldn’t affect the players in the slightest.
