Jose Mourinho responds to rumours linking Marouane Fellaini with Man United exit

Manchester United Football Club will be ready and raring to go for the new Premier League season now, particularly as the players have six pre-season fixtures under their belts. The latest, a 3-0 victory against Norwegian team, Valerenga. On the scoresheet was Marouane Fellaini.

Recently, reports emerged suggesting that the big Belgian could be on his way out of Old Trafford, with Turkish side Galatasaray apparently keen on signing the midfielder.

Judging by an excellent performance today, those rumours are nonsense, and after the match, manager Jose Mourinho backed it up. The self-proclaimed Special One joked that it’s easier for them to sign him because Fellaini is just too important.

“It’s easier for them to sign me. He’s too important. No chance.” Jose Mourinho is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News’ Kaveh Solhekol.

First of all, this tells you just how far Fellaini has come under the management of Mourinho. He was a superb player for us last term, and someone of real importance in specific situations.

Mourinho trusts him endlessly, hence why he started in so many big matches. The most important thing is that he always does what is asked of him despite all the criticism, and whisper it quietly, but I think he’s a valuable asset and I’m glad we’re keeping hold of him.
