Manchester United have officially unveiled Jose Mourinho as manager of this prestigious club, as he undertook his first official duty – a press conference. The 53-year-old was as brilliant as we all anticipated he would be, and what a statement of intent.
Amongst various subjects was Manchester United transfer agenda, and the self-proclaimed Special One didn’t remain tight-lipped. He added that the club have already landed three players (Bailly, Ibrahimovic and presumably Mkhitaryan), but the club want to bring in four faces this summer.
“From these targets we have three, until we have the fourth we are working hard on that, with Mr Woodward and the owners. When we have them we will breathe, we will be stable, and the market will still be open.” Jose Mourinho said.
Although there wasn’t any specific names mentioned, you’d imagine that Mourinho wants to make a signing in the midfield area. The club are looking extremely light there at the moment, and some reinforcements are certainly needed.
Paul Pogba is the face that immediately springs to mind, and what a brilliant signing it would be if the club can somehow pull it off without Champions League football. Mourinho has plenty of time though, because the transfer window is still open for another two months yet…
