Manchester United Football Club shocked us all when they announced that Zlatan Ibrahimovic had signed a new one-year contract at the Theatre of Dreams. Today, Jose Mourinho met the media ahead of our game against Leicester City and that was amongst the topic of discussion.
The manager confirmed that the veteran striker will be included in our Champions League squad, but in all likelihood, Ibrahimovic will not feature in those games.
“I don’t think there will be any chance of that.” Jose Mourinho responded when asked the question.

At the end of the day, Ibrahimovic suffered a rather serious injury, particularly when you factor in the age of the man. This is a guy who is approaching the twilight of his career, and if we’re being brutally honest, who knows if he’ll even be able to perform at the highest level once he comes back.
To have him back in and around the dressing room has to be viewed as a positive whatever happens. Ibrahimovic has been around the game for almost two decades now, and that experience is absolutely vital. I guess the biggest beneficiary of that will be the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku – who’ll all learn loads from the former PSG striker.
