Tensions at Old Trafford are clearly high right now. Perhaps things have gotten even more concerning, with Jose Mourinho sending out a huge statement to the Manchester United dressing room.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the self-proclaimed Special One has told Paul Pogba, and the rest of the squad, that the Frenchman will never captain the club again…
It comes following a barrage of hints from Pogba in the media, suggesting that he’s not entirely happy with life at United at the moment. It seems as though the 25-year-old’s latest outburst has cost him the armband; for good…
Honestly, I’ve absolutely no issue with Mourinho stripping the armband off Pogba. He’s no leader. Look at how naive he was for Wolves’ equaliser on Saturday. The dilly-dallying when in possession finally come back to bit him on the behind. The thing is, he just won’t learn.
At the time he was given the captain’s armband on opening day, I was immediately concerned. There are at least one or two better options, but perhaps it was an attempt from Mourinho to try and persuade Pogba into staying around longer.
Now, it looks as though Pogba and Mourinho’s relationship is at an all-time low. Don’t be surprised to see the ex-Juventus man benched in the not too distant future.
