Jose Mourinho speaks highly of Man United’s James Garner

A certain Jose Mourinho has recently been full of praise for Man United’s James Garner.

We’ve never hidden our love for James Garner here at Old Trafford Faithful. For the last few seasons, we’ve been super high on the Englishman. This year, the footballing world is starting to take notice.

Garner has absolutely lit it up for Nottingham Forest all year long, helping his side to a promotion that has been a long time coming for one of the most historical clubs within our beautiful game.

The impressive performance from Garner in the final against Huddersfield Town left us all impressed. He made some huge tackles and blocks, while also delivering the ball that led to the only goal of the game. He certainly showed that the stage is never going to be too bright for him.

Another who has long been a fan of Garner is none other than Jose Mourinho. The self-proclaimed Special One pitted Garner against Toni Kroos in pre-season once, with the man from Birkenhead more than holding his own.

Now, the top-class gaffer Mourinho has further lauded the praise on the emerging United starlet – but this time privately to a confidant…

Check out what Jose Mourinho had to say on James Garner here:

“He is a player,” Mourinho recently told a confidant, per the Manchester Evening News.

It doesn’t get better than being showered in praise by one of the greatest managers to ever do it. Sure, it didn’t work out for Mourinho here in Manchester, but you can see that he’s still a winner, just look at his time at AS Roma.

Garner is absolutely the perfect player for a Mourinho system. He loves those hardworking midfielders who aren’t afraid to make an impact on both sides of the ball.

For me, it’s Garner’s tenacity, calmness and overall ability to affect the game in several ways that’s the most impressive. Again, I’ve been begging to see him at the first-team level for at least two years.

Hopefully, this spell at Forest has left Erik ten Hag with no choice but to bring Garner on pre-season tour to get a closer look at the 21-year-old. If given that chance, I’d fully expect the young man to grasp it with both hands.
