Manchester United have undergone a huge overhaul of the first-team squad this summer, with Jose Mourinho making massive changes despite only being at the club for a few months. However, one man who won’t be going anywhere is Phil Jones.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who say that Jose Mourinho has warned all Jones’ potential buyers not to pursue their interest in the Englishman anymore.
Stoke, Watford and Hull are a few of a dozen clubs who have shown a willingness to bring in United’s talented defender, but the 24-year-old has been told he still has a role to play under his new boss.
Jones himself obviously wants to stay, but would consider moving away if he doesn’t get the playing time he needs to further his career. He is willing to see how the next few weeks pan out before making a decision, because you’d imagine he’ll get his opportunities in the Europa League when that competition begins.
