What a whirlwind six months it has been for Marcus Rashford. The young man burst onto the scene back in February and simply hasn’t looked back since. He has scored hugely important goals for the club, as well as going to France with England to take part in the European Championships.
However, Jose Mourinho has arrived and in typical fashion has binned off the youth policy somewhat. Despite Rashford still being a part of his plans, we’re yet to see him given enough minutes to prove his worth. That has led to the 18-year-old being dropped from the senior England squad, and has cast doubts about his future.
He still has a part to play at the Theatre of Dreams this season though, if reports from the Daily Mail are to be believed. They say that Jose Mourinho has told Rashford he will get his chances in the first-team as the season progresses, which must be hugely reassuring for the youngster.
We’ve seen just how talented Rashford is, and it would be criminal to see him underused by Jose. You’d imagine he’ll get his game-time in the Europa League as well as the EFL Cup when that kicks off next month.
