Well, nobody expected that. Marcus Rashford will start for Manchester United against Chelsea this evening, and what a brilliant bonus it is to have him begin the game. The 19-year-old will be the only striker in the squad, so he’ll need to try and remain on the field for as long as possible.
Chelsea away at Stamford Bridge is always a struggle, and I’ve no doubt that tonight will be any different. The Red Devils haven’t beaten their Premier League rivals since way back in 2012, which is a horrendous record for a club of our stature.
However, Rashford is obviously intent on putting that right this evening, and Jose Mourinho has admitted that the man from Wythenshawe is ‘putting himself on the line’ for the good of the team, I presume.
“The decision comes from Marcus Rashford. He is putting himself on the line.” Jose Mourinho is quoted as saying by BBC Sport journalist Simon Stone.
Jose to @BBCSport: "The decision comes from @MarcusRashford. He is putting himself on the line."

The commitment is there for all to see, and full credit to Marcus Rashford for doing all he can to get himself out on that field. It’s obviously not going to be easy for him, but the manager will absolutely love the desire from the Mancunian.
You have to look at it from Rashford’s point of view. He hasn’t really been given the chance to start as a striker due to the form of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and he is doing all he can to get that opportunity this evening.
Come on, United!
