Well, folks, it was fun while it lasted. Apparently, Romelu Lukaku is set for a recall to the team, following being dropped last time out against Everton.
According to the Daily Mirror, the 25-year-old is set to start against AFC Bournemouth this coming Saturday, in a game which will be a real test for Jose Mourinho’s men.
Lukaku hasn’t scored in his last nine outings for club, although he has been in great form for his nation during the last few international breaks, which only adds to the frustration coming his way from United fans.
Honestly, though, I’d keep him on the bench. The team as a whole just play far better with Lukaku out of the team. The movement is there, plus Marcus Rashford also gave us the option to run in-behind on occasion. Although the young Englishman didn’t have the best of outings, he had an effect on the match.
As for Lukaku, he affected the Everton game too – but negatively. When he came on, things slowed up, United weren’t as free-flowing, we struggled to create opportunities. That’s not to say he’s a bad player, he’s obviously excellent, I just think he needs some time on the sidelines to rediscover that fire in his belly.
Should Romelu Lukaku be recalled to the starting line-up this weekend? #mufc
