Jose Mourinho trying to complete five signings this summer, with three major outgoings likely: report

Manchester United Football Club could be set for another huge transfer spending spree, with manager Jose Mourinho trying to complete five signings this summer.

That’s according to The Times, per the Daily Express. They say that the self-proclaimed Special One wants to bring in five new faces, including moves for Diogo Dalot, Toby Alderweireld and Fred

The other two areas that Mourinho wants to address are left-back and another central midfielder. With Luke Shaw not playing and Michael Carrick hanging up his boots, these moves certainly make sense.

Who is Diogo Dalot? Profiling the full-back Manchester United are close to signing

On top of that, The Times says that both Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind will be sold, whereas Marouane Fellaini is yet to put pen to paper on a new Red Devils contract; with the Belgium international likely to leave.

Despite being in control for two years now, our squad still has major holes that need filling. Our midfield looked absolutely woeful at times this season, and there is no doubt that bringing in Fred (plus one other) would be a huge step in the right direction.

Similar can be said about our defence. The likes of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling have had far too many chances. Replacing one of those guys with the experienced Toby Alderweireld would be an excellent piece of business.
