Manchester United Football Club could well have a new man in charge come the summer, with plenty of reports suggesting that Louis van Gaal has already lost his job no matter what happens. All fingers point to Jose Mourinho taking over, which wouldn’t be a bad move.
According to the usually reliable Sunday People, Jose Mourinho wants to make Gonzalo Higuain his first summer signing, with Manchester United having to pay around £70million to bring in the Napoli striker.
At 28, the Argentinian is at the peak of his powers at the moment and he is banging in the goals for fun for the Serie A side. Higuain has scored an impressive 85 goals in 120 outings, as well as featuring heavily for the Argentinian national side, who have plenty of options in the forward areas.
£70million would be a massive gamble, but with the football market the way it is at the moment, it may be one worth taking – especially with Manchester United set to make even more money from next season due to an astronomical TV deal.
