Jose Mourinho has already enforced noticeable changes at Manchester United. He has already brought in some new players, and our tactics and formations have also differed. His work isn’t anywhere close to being done, however, and now, it looks as though he is ready to make a move to sign a Chelsea man in January.
According to The Sun, Jose Mourinho wants to raid his former club to sign 29-year-old John Obi Mikel in a cut-price deal when the January transfer window opens.
The Nigerian is out of contract in the summer and hasn’t mustered up a single start under Antonio Conte since the Italian took charge at Stamford Bridge just a few months ago. Now Jose wants to swoop and sign him for a second time.
Although no deal is done at the moment, I believe that it wouldn’t be too difficult to sort out. He’s obviously out of contract in just over six months time and Chelsea would lose him for free if they let that run down. If Manchester United come in with a cash offer in January for a player who barely features, it’s just good business sense to sell. In the same report, The Sun say that Mikel could cost United around £2million.
They also add that Jose is keen on Leicester City’s Danny Drinkwater, who they rate at around £30million. That deal would obviously be harder due to the fact that The Foxes are still in the Champions League however.
