Manchester United Football Club could be in the market for a new central midfielder over the summer, particularly with Michael Carrick calling time on his glittering career.
According to The Sun, Jose Mourinho is weighing up potential moves for Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and also looking at Nice’s Jean Michael Seri.
Milinkovic-Savic has been brilliant for the Serie A side this term, propelling them up the table with some wonderfully dynamic midfield displays.
Then you have Seri, who is making a real name for himself in France with some commanding performances.
They’re both similar players and it comes as no surprise that Mourinho is weighing up a bit for that box-to-box midfield enforcer, who’ll likely complement both Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba perfectly.
You also have to factor in that Marouane Fellaini is yet to sign a new deal, so maybe two new midfielders could be signed. I genuinely couldn’t think of a more perfect pair of players.
I think attack-wise, we’re set. That leaves Mourinho with the midfield and defence to focus on, and if he can acquire at least one of these guys then we’d be well on the way to challenging Manchester City for a title next term.
