Manchester United are a club with an absolute embarrassment of riches at their disposal, and with a man like Jose Mourinho at the helm, big things are expected of the Red Devils. It looks as though the self-proclaimed Special One has his eye on at least one player from his homeland, too.
According to verified journalist Matthew Stanger, Manchester United had scouts at one of the highest profile games in Portuguese football; SL Benfica against Sporting Lisbon.

Although there is no direct way of knowing who Manchester United scouts had eyes on, there are a few possible candidates. Remember, this is just our own guesswork and is not factual information.
First up, we have SL Benfica’s Victor Lindelof, a Swedish centre-back who is making a real name for himself with his current side. At just twenty-two, he has a lot of developing to do, but could be a long-term partner for Eric Bailly at the back.
Another man who could’ve caught the eye was Nelson Semedo, a right-back who could provide some excellent cover for Antonio Valencia. The 23-year-old was born in Portugal, and already has caps for the national team.
In terms of attackers, the most obvious man to watch out for is Goncalo Guedes. The 20-year-old has made a huge impact on Benfica over the last eighteen months and is regarded as one of the best up and coming players out of Portugal.
