Juan Mata has found a new club after leaving Man United. He’s heading to Galatasaray.

Man United lost a whole host of players on free transfers over the summer, with Erik ten Hag tasked with completing the overhaul.

Obviously, that’s easier said than done, particularly when so many squad members had winding down contracts. Most have gone on to find new teams with relative ease.

However, Juan Mata‘s case was an intriguing one. It felt like a straightforward decision for the Spaniard to head back to Spain. However, time passed without the attacking midfielder settling on his next destination.

Well, we’re now in September, with the former United star finally finding his new club, a few months after leaving the Reds on a free. According to Simon Stone, the veteran will head to Turkey, to play his football for Galatasaray.

Check out Simon Stone’s tweet as Mata finally has a new club after leaving Man United:

Honestly, I’m just so pleased for Juan as a person. He’s a cracking bloke who never once moaned about being a squad player in Manchester. Now, he’ll have that chance to play football with regularity. It’s the least he deserves at this stage in his career.

The Spaniard is an incredible asset for Galatasaray. He’s a football ambassador of the highest level, while no doubt his experience and elite mentality will rub off on their dressing room.

In terms of what could happen in the future, I would absolutely love to see Mata back at Old Trafford when he retires. Be it as a coach, or just someone who helps the United brand grow within an ambassadorial role, he’s someone who would be a positive for any club within our beautiful game.

Best of luck, Juan!
