Over the weekend, Manchester United sealed their first major piece of silverware under Jose Mourinho. The Red Devils hope this will be the beginning of a new era at Old Trafford, but this cup, in particular, is very special to Juan Mata, after suffering from the loss of his grandfather.
There was speculation raised that the intelligent Spaniard would miss the game after attending the funeral, but he beat the clock to get back in time, and in fact, he started the match.
You could tell just how much it meant to every single one of the players yesterday by the manner of their celebrations. Today, though, Mata has dedicated the victory to his family member who sadly passed away in a classy Instagram post.

It certainly says a lot about the calibre of the man. We’re lucky to have Juan Mata on our books as he always gives absolutely everything for this football club. You have to say, he’s a supremely talented individual and credit to him for sticking with it this year as he’s been one of our top performers.
Mata is so classy, and for him to come out and pay his respects in the best possible way (winning a trophy) is brilliant. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this time, Juan.
