Juan Mata speaks out on David de Gea’s potential Madrid move

Manchester United’s David de Gea has just one year left on his current contract at Old Trafford, and at this moment in time his future is still up in the air, with the club unsure if the 24-year old will be the proud wearer of United’s #1 jersey next term.

His close friend and colleague,  Juan Mata was quizzed about the situation by Marca, and he replied:

“De Gea to Madrid? He’s my friend and I want him to be happy. He’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world today.” Juan Mata said.

Obviously Juan Mata will want him to stay, as he is one of his best friends at the club, alongside Ander Herrera.

It certainly seems as though the news about David de Gea is now travelling around the dressing room which is never a good thing. Every football club needs every single individual to be pulling in the same direction and if De Gea’s head is elsewhere that can distract some players.

If De Gea leaves, who should replace him? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
