Jude Bellingham urged to join Man United by former Red

Jude Bellingham has been told a move to Man United would be good for his career.

There’s no doubt that when Jude Bellingham made the switch to Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United rolled out the red carpet for the young starlet.

Unfortunately, that pursuit came up short, with the Englishman now set to cost an awful lot more for the potential buyer when Bellingham leaves Germany.

The question is, where will Bellingham end up? No doubt all of Europe’s big players will be pushing hard to acquire the talented teenager, though getting the deal over the line is going to be far easier said than done.

Our expectation is that Bellingham will leave Dortmund next summer. United remain intent on bringing the player to Old Trafford. However, the Red Devils’ fall from grace absolutely hasn’t helped their case.

Well, one ex-Red in the form of Ben Foster has urged the starlet to choose red over blue, with the player-turned-pundit stating that the emerging player ‘would thrive’ at the Theatre of Dreams.

Check out what Ben Foster had to say on Jude Bellingham and a potential move to Man United:

‘For me personally, I would love to see him go to Manchester United,’ Foster told his YouTube channel.

‘I think he would thrive more at Manchester United, he’d have more responsibility and I think he would enjoy it there more.

‘I think he would know he’s the main man. I worry that if he went to a club like Man City he might just sort of [end up] a little like Jack Grealish.

‘He would just fade a little bit at Manchester City. So I would love him at Manchester United, I think he would smash it.’

Foster absolutely makes a compelling argument. There’s no doubt Bellingham would be the main star for United, whereas at City he’s just another cog in the machine.

I guess it comes down to what Bellingham wants. Sadly, the harsh reality is that if he wants a better chance at winning a Premier League title, City is the destination right now.

For United, it’s about enjoying a good 2022/23 campaign and showing that they can compete for honours. A finish inside the top four feels like an absolute necessity to have any chance at getting this deal done.

In the end, United will be counting on the allure of Bellingham getting the chance to help return this club to its former glory. Is that going to be enough? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
