Julian Nagelsmann is being eyed by Man United, if they choose to sack Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United could have a big decision to make this summer. It’s fair to say Erik ten Hag has flattered to deceive this term, throwing up a real mixed bag of results and performance.
He is not an INEOS or Sir Jim Ratcliffe appointment, thus, relieving him of his duties may be easier as a result.
For what it’s worth, I’d personally keep the faith in Ten Hag. Injuries haven’t helped this term and I don’t think United should be hitting the reset button again at this stage.
However, The Independent believe Julian Nagelsmann is now a potential candidate to take over Ten Hag.
According to their latest information, the 36-year-old manager is now of ‘increasing interest’ to United, should they decide to let Ten Hag go this summer.
Nagelsmann, who has previously managed Bayern Munich, is currently the German national team boss. He is willing to return to club football after EURO 2024, with a ‘series of clubs’ now giving him ‘much greater consideration’.
It feels like Nagelsmann has been around forever, though he’s still only 36. There can be no doubt he should be among the possible candidates if the Reds do decide to move away from Ten Hag. He’s an elite level coach who does get the absolute maximum out of his players.
I can imagine United wouldn’t have it all their own way, though. Nagelsmann would also likely attract interest from clubs like Liverpool, who are losing Jurgen Klopp this summer.
For now, though, I’d keep the faith in Ten Hag.
