Manchester United have had a longstanding interest in Lazio midfielder, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The latest story we covered came from Sky Italia who confirmed the Red Devils are still keen.
Well today, we’ve been given a fresh update on the Serbian’s future, and it comes from the Monday print edition of Il Tiempo, translated via the excellent Sport Witness.
The headline reads: “Sergej, the exit is inevitable”, with a subheading claiming he ‘will leave Lazio’ and ‘it’s just a matter of time’ before the 24-year-old does depart… which is obviously a bold claim from the Italian media outlet.
Furthermore, the Lazio owner, Claudio Lotito, is currently ‘evaluating’ offers from both United and Paris Saint-Germain. However, Sport Witness says that information is false as so far, only enquiries have been made for Milinkovic-Savic…

Apparently, there has been talk of an €80m (£72m) offer for Milinkovic-Savic from United, but that won’t happen until Paul Pogba is sold by the Old Trafford club – that’s if he leaves at all.
The Serb is a decent player, but is he good enough to directly replace Pogba? Probably not. Personally, I’d prefer to keep an inconsistent Pogba at United, but obviously, football isn’t as simple as that…
