Manchester United Football Club are struggling at the moment, although there have been a few shining lights this season. Luke Shaw is impressing, as is David de Gea, while our best player on paper, Paul Pogba, continues to be inconsistent.
The Frenchman is now in his third year at Old Trafford. I think it’s fair to say that he hasn’t improved at all since returning ‘home’. I find it telling that there are already whispers about him potentially leaving United, and the latest report claims that he is being targeted for a January move.
Tuttosport, translated by the Manchester Evening News, are claiming that Juventus are planning an audacious loan move to bring Pogba back to Turin. A clause in the deal will state that the Serie A giants will have to oblige to buying the 25-year-old permanently in 2019’s summer.
Apparently, a Champions League rule change means that if Pogba made the move back to Juventus, he’d be eligible to play in the competition for them, despite already donning out in Europe for United.
The MEN report does add that is seems virtually impossible that United will agree to let Pogba leave in the middle of the season, but the fact that there is even rumours suggesting that he could be on his way out is worrying. To me, it indicates that he isn’t happy, while the performances haven’t been good enough. This far into things, I struggle to see how he’ll turn it around…
