Mason Greenwood could be offered a fresh start in Italy with Juventus.
We’ve done our best to stay away from the Mason Greenwood stories over the last year or so for obvious reasons, though the Englishman remains a Manchester United player – for now at least.
Erik ten Hag has to make a big decision on the future of Greenwood, with no indication given by the gaffer at this point in time.
On a personal level, I’d be surprised if he’s kept at the club. I just don’t see a way back for him in the Premier League. I also assumed he’d be done in Europe altogether. However, that may not be the case.
According to the Sunday Sun, Juventus is ‘ready to offer’ the 21-year-old United player a ‘fresh start’.
The Turin-based club are ‘very interested’ in giving Greenwood a way back into top level football. They’ve sounded out the player’s camp and are hopeful a long-term loan deal could be agreed this summer.
In terms of other interest, Milan, Roma and Turkish sides are all keen on Greenwood.
Greenwood’s charges were dropped in February, though United made it clear he wouldn’t return to the fold until their investigation was complete. The Old Trafford side placed no timeframe on that. We’ve heard nothing since.
The attacker still has two years left on a £75,000-a-week deal at United, though the club will be treading carefully as they don’t want their reputation to be left in tatters if they make the wrong decision.
Honestly, I’m surprised that it looks like Greenwood is going to have some top offers available, though I’d be shocked if United managed to get a decent fee for the player given everything that’s happening.
