Juventus have always been the masters of the free transfer. This summer, they lured both Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot to the Old Lady and remember back in 2012 when they signed Paul Pogba for practically nothing…
Well, the Turin-based outfit are at it again (or trying to anyway)… This time, they’re keeping a watchful eye on Manchester United starlet, Tahith Chong.
The story comes from the Daily Mail, who state that the European giant are eyeing a free transfer for the talented United 19-year-old, who’s contract expires next summer.
Apparently, Juve are ‘closely watching’ Chong, with United unable to reach a contractual agreement with the teenager so far. The article states that the Serie A high-flyers’ interest mirrors Pogba’s 2012 move to Turin…
Furthermore, Chong scored in front of a Juventus representative during an U23s game a week ago, while there are other interested parties across Europe…
The fluffy-haired Dutchman had been included in first-team match-day squads with regularity to start the season, however more recently, the winger has been omitted from them – missing the last five of seven.
That could leave Chong questioning his short-term future at Old Trafford, and with the 19-year-old able to sign a pre-contractual agreement as early as January, you do wonder whether his head has been turned at this point…
