Kagawa Looks Up To Park

Shinji Kagawa scored his first goal in a red shirt on Wednesday, he then stated that this is only the beginning for him and he sees Park Ji-Sung as a role model. Kagawa moved from Dortmund to United for a fee believed to be around the £17million mark. Based on his performance vs. Shanghai, he has the potential to be a very important acquisition for us.

“This is only the beginning for me, but Park Ji-sung is the best player Asia has ever produced – there’s no doubt about that.” He told the Daily Mirror

“He played regularly for United for a long time and I can’t be sure how long it will take me to establish myself in the team like him.” He continued “But I will always work hard to do so. Watching him play for United motivated me a lot. I began to truly believe Asian players could play in big clubs. I was expecting we could help each other and play together at United. It’s a shame that he left. But, like Park, I will focus every day on training and do my best to stay here a long time.”

Shinji seems so humbled and down to earth about his move to the club. You can tell he really wants to make an impression in our red shirt. Heres to hoping he helps us win our trophy back!
