Kai Havertz open to making Man United move this summer: report

Earlier today, we covered a story from Christian Falk, who reported that Manchester United are still looking to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen.

Well, in amongst the fixture lists being released, we missed the Manchester Evening News’ take on that situation. Yesterday, they wrote that the talented 20-year-old attacking midfielder is ‘open’ to a United switch this summer. Furthermore. a Premier League move is a realistic option for the German.

United wouldn’t be the only keen party from British shores, mind. With Havertz ‘expecting’ plenty of interest when the window eventually opens.

The MEN add that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ‘eager’ to add attacking talent to the squad, which does make sense given the uncertainty surrounding Paul Pogba and the likelihood that more players are moved on this summer.

Jadon Sancho does remain the top priority, but make no mistake about it, Havertz does feel like a genuine target. According to the report, Leverkusen ‘could look to sell’ the German this summer, due to financial difficulties brought on by COVID-19…

Like we mentioned in our earlier piece, Havertz is going to have ample choice when it comes to choosing where he heads next. I’d like to think that despite the lack of trophies over the last few years, Manchester United is still the premier destination in the Premier League.
