Well today, ESPN’s sources have doubled down on that. They say that the 26-year-old’s United teammates believe the Frenchman will leave the club, while senior figures, or as ESPN put it, ‘nobody of any consequence’ expects the star to be at Old Trafford next season…
Pogba has only played in eight games this season and he will not be present when the United squad jet out to Marbella this weekend for some warm weather training. Honestly, to me it feels like the 26-year-old is happy to keep picking up his wages while taking his time back from injury as he doesn’t want to rush back and play for a club he doesn’t really care about…
The situation is a dire one. Everyone thought Pogba’s arrival back ‘home’ would signal that the good times were returning. Instead, things have only gotten worse.
Sure, Pogba has played his part in that as I don’t think he has been anywhere near good enough, but there has been negligence from the management team and from the powers-that-be, too… With two-and-a-half years left on his contract, United aren’t going to be desperate to part with Pogba, though there’s an increasing realisation that his long-term future isn’t in Manchester.
