As if Manchester United’s transfer problems weren’t bad enough, Romelu Lukaku has added further fuel to the fire…
According to The Sun in an exclusive, the in-form Belgian is considering leaving Old Trafford for Italy this summer.
The report says that Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan are all in the mix to say the key United forward, who has been scoring goals for fun of late.
To hear that Lukaku is considering leaving after less than two years at the club is concerning, to say the least. It goes to show that behind the scenes there is an overriding unhappiness within the dressing room. Our big players want to win multiple trophies while playing Champions League football. That’s by no means a given at the moment.
Although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is doing a wonderful job, the damage was already done by Jose Mourinho. That effect is still a massive factor going into a summer where United are trying to improve the playing squad – not lose their top performers.
I think we’re in for a real rollercoaster of a summer. Maybe a huge clear out is exactly what we need. Although it may set us back in the short-term, having those long-term ideologies is what builds a successful football club.
