Manchester United’s squad is injury hit at the moment. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping that at least some players can return from injury this weekend.
Amongst the hopefuls is Marcus Rashford. He missed international duty giving him an extra fortnight to rest up and prepare. In the meantime, rumours surrounding his long-term future have been circling, with FC Barcelona linked with a move for the key United star.
However, Red Devils fans have been given some good news in that regard. According to the Irish Mirror, Rashford has ‘no desire’ to leave Old Trafford. Although talks regarding a new £150,000-a-week contract are ongoing.
It’s obviously great that he wants to stick around at United. He’s a homegrown product and you get the feeling that his job will not be complete until he helps this club win major honours.
We’re lucky to have him. It’s great that he’s one of our own and right now, Rashford is amongst our top performers. If anyone deserves a wage hike at the moment, it’s probably the 21-year-old, so hopefully, a contract can be agreed upon soon to stop these rumours about his future.
