Finally, it’s the news we’ve all been waiting for. David de Gea is ready to commit to Manchester United in the long-term, according to the Daily Mail.
The shot-stopper has decided he wants to remain a Red Devil and expects to sign a new £375,000-a-week deal at Old Trafford. De Gea, like several other key squad members, is feeling far better about life under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and sees a future for himself with the Norwegian at the helm.
After it seems like both parties have been in negotiations for quite some time, it looks as though an agreement isn’t far from being reached and this is massive news.
It’s now widely accepted that De Gea is the best in the business. Ensuring that his long-term future is secure gives the next permanent manager one less problem to worry about; though right now, that looks like it’ll be Solskjaer.
Warding off interest from Real Madrid eventually paid off when they opted to move for Thibaut Courtois instead. Now, it’s down to the club to give De Gea whatever he wants in terms of a weekly wage and tie him down as quickly as possible – preferably before this season ends…
