After being linekd with a £12.1m move to bring Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka to Old Trafford by the Guardian yesterday, United’s hopes of signing the 24-year old have been immediately dashed by the player himself.
The tricky winger has admitted that he’d reject Manchester United, and stay at Dnipro for at least another season due to the lack of Champions League football in Manchester.
Konoplyanka: “Man United? I’d rather stay at Dnipro and play in the Champions League”.

Konoplyanka was subject to an accepted bid by Liverpool in the January transfer window, but that move didn’t have time to go through on deadline day. Since then, Liverpool haven’t made contact with Dnipro over Konoplyanka, paving the way for United to make a swoop.
These latest quotes are a huge blow though, as Konoplyanka becomes the first player to admit he’d reject the club because of the lack of European football. Yesterday was a bad day for United fans, as we learnt that Kroos would definitely be staying put at Bayern, and the Shaw deal could collapse.
