Kylian Mbappe made a Man United transfer target: report

Man United have their eyes on PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, as the Reds want to add more firepower up top.

Edinson Cavani’s decision to stick around for another year gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer one less headache to worry about in the 2021/22 season.

However, El Matador sadly isn’t going to be around forever – and next summer, our Baby Faced Assassin will have to replace those goals.

Having a top tier forward can often be the difference in winning tight games, while there’s only a handful of these guys in world football.

Now, United have added one superstar name to their list of transfer targets, as Solskjaer plots a move for a big-name striker next summer. The man they want? Kylian Mbappe.

The story comes from ESPN, who state that United’s recruitment team have drawn up a list of potential options in the forward position next summer, while also looking to add a central midfielder and a right-back to the squad before this summer’s deadline.

Mbappe is not the only name under consideration, with Harry Kane, Erling Haaland and Lautaro Martinez also on Solskjaer’s striker wishlist.

The Frenchman has entered into the final year of his contract with the Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, with United ‘maintaining a watching brief on his situation’.

United wouldn’t be the only interested party in Mbappe, with Real Madrid and Liverpool also showing an interest.

Honestly, signing Mbappe is one thing, but getting him on a free transfer would be a different level of brilliance. The only issue is that with no transfer fee involved, his wage demands will go through the roof and United would be forced to majorly overpay in that regard.

There’s no doubt that the eventual winner of Mbappe’s signature will be getting one hell of a player, mind.

Would a Man United move for Kylian Mbappe make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
