Manchester United have been quoted a huge £132million from SS Lazio, in the Red Devils’ attempt to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport in Italy, translated by The Metro. The report states that the 23-year-old is on Jose Mourinho’s wishlist as the self-proclaimed Special One looks to replace the outgoing Michael Carrick, who’ll hang up his boots this summer.
Midfield has been an issue for years now. I genuinely thought that signing Paul Pogba would fix those problems, but so far, the Frenchman’s move to Old Trafford hasn’t really worked out.
I love the way Milinkovic-Savic plays the game, but there is absolutely no way that United will pay the £132million asking price. I understand that Lazio wants to keep ahold of their star midfielder, and I’ve no doubt that he’ll be an expensive buy for whoever wins the race to sign him, but I don’t see it being over the £100million mark.
With that said, the Serie A club will be under no pressure to sell the Serbia international, as he has a deal that doesn’t expire until the summer of 2022…
