Lets not get ahead of ourselves just yet…

Since our late victory at Blackburn on Monday night, I’ve been getting rather worried with all the reds that think the league is nearly done and dusted. The fact is it’s far from it.

Yes we have opened up a five point cushion between ourselves and Manchester City, which is nice to have at this stage of the season. However we have seen first hand.
how quickly things can change, this time last month it was the blue half of Manchester that had the five point lead and they didn’t look like dropping points.

I woke up this morning and saw the headline “No trophy presentation at the Etihad” this is from a PL spokesperson. We need to win the thing first before we start planning where the presentation will be. Personally I think it’s a dangerous game to be playing and we need to ensure that we are in the right frame of mind going into the business end of the season.

A Manchester United supporting bookmaker Betfred have already paid out on United winning the league, however this trick has already backfired once back in 1998 when Arsenal clawed back a 12 point deficit to overhaul the Red Devils and ended up winning the league by a point. It seems absurd that Betfred would even tempt fate again, but there is no such thing as bad publicity, the Bookies always win don’t they?

Of course there is no better man for the job than Sir Alex, and you would fancy us to close it out from here, but lets not get ahead of ourselves and take each game as they come. Let’s just keep playing our football and hold off on celebrating for the next few weeks because anything can happen, the unpredictability in our sport is exactly why we love the beautiful game isn’t it?
