Lisandro Martinez came off against Wolves yesterday, before footage emerged of the Argentine receiving treatment on the sideline. Thankfully, there is no issue…
Manchester United certainly made hard work of it against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday night, though they’d eventually secure all three points thanks to a very late Kobbie Mainoo winner.
The game itself was extremely entertaining. Both sides gave it their all, particularly during a second half which was filled with goals galore. However, there was one cause for concern late on…
Lisandro Martinez was pictured receiving treatment on the sidelines after being subbed off late on. We were all understandably concerned for the Argentine, who has only just come back from the treatment table.
Thankfully, United source @rxnpixels has eased those concerns, confirming that it the strapping and ice pack was just for safety, rather than a new problem.
✅ Can confirm that Lisandro Martinez is NOT injured. The ice pack he had strapped to his foot was just for safety following his substitution in the 86th minute against Wolves. pic.twitter.com/EkqrKnArfI

Obviously, the last thing United need would be to lose Licha for a long period of time. He’s undoubtedly the best centre-half at the club and we’re absolutely going to need to rely on him for the remainder of the season if we’re serious about trying to move up the table.
I just feel relieved that Martinez is fine. I guess after so long out, the body needs that extra bit of help due to stiffness and muscle issues that wouldn’t usually occur. The ice pack and strapping will no doubt help Licha in regard to his recovery.
I do wonder whether we’ll see him take to the field against West Ham this coming Sunday, though. We’re talking about two games in quick succession, for a man who was out for multiple months with a severe injury.
