Lisandro Martinez has spoken out about his injury, offering some encouraging news to the supporters.
Manchester United Football Club have been trying to cope without some of their most important players through injury this season. Two of their best three performers from last term have been sidelined for long periods; Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro. The other top player, Marcus Rashford, hasn’t been playing well…
It’s no surprise that as a result, there has been a real down-turn in form. The lads are struggling to string results together, though hopefully, that will change in the not too distant future when these guys return.
Martinez has been dealing with a metatarsal problem since last April, which is obviously less than ideal. The Argentine had a good pre-season, played a few league games and then a recurrence of the injury struck.
However, he has now offered an encouraging update on his injury, stating that his rehab is ‘going amazingly’, though we have to remain patient and give him all the time he needs.
Check out what Licha had to say on his injury here:
“I am really good, honestly. My rehab is going amazingly. We need to be patient”. Martinez is quoted as saying by Fabrizio Romano.
“It’s going in the way that I want, I feel strong”.
“I love this club, I love this place. I feel so grateful to be here every day”.
The man from Argentina is vital to not just our defensive stability, he also brings some leadership to the pitch.
The centre-back is a player that the other members of the dressing room will follow into battle. There’s much more security at the back when he’s in the team due to his excellent positional sense, aggressive nature and on-ball quality.
Although this is a vague statement from the ex-Ajax defender, it does lead me to believe that he’s trending in the right direction, which is great news for the club as a whole.
Hopefully, he’s back playing on the Old Trafford turf not too long into the new year.
