Lisandro Martinez sends emotional message to fans after making injury return

Lisandro Martinez is back! The Argentine did take to social media to send a heartfelt message to the Man United fans upon his comeback.

Injuries have been one of the stories of Manchester United’s season, whether the media refuse to acknowledge it or not…

The Red Devils are slowly getting players back which has been rather nice. This weekend’s game against Tottenham Hotspur saw both Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez returning to the squad, with the latter taking to the field in the second half.

It had been a long time coming for the Argentina international, who has been missing since early-September.

Losing Licha for a prolonged period had a significant effect on the overall performances of the squad. Make no mistake about it. He was arguably our best player last term so it’s no surprise there was a drop-off in displays without him available.

Well, he’s now back and ready to make up for lost time. After making that comeback, he’d take to Twitter/X to send an emotional message to the fans, admitting his ‘love’ for the supporters, while being ‘proud’ of the reception he deservedly received.

It does feel so good to have Licha back. The defender is not only our best player in that area of the field, but he brings an on-field leadership and a real positive aura to the table.

You could see the confidence in the whole team improve the moment he stepped out onto the field, which is so important to any future success that United may hope to have from now until the end of the season.

With two weeks in between matches, Licha now has plenty of time to continue to work on his individual fitness levels, with a genuine chance that the defender starts in the FA Cup fourth round in United’s next fixture.

Hopefully, he can aid United in a second half of the season push up the table.
