Liverpool legend: “I had a United shirt as a kid!”

Manchester United’s rivalry with Liverpool is without doubt the fiercest in English football. At the head of that rivalry for the Merseyside club is Steven Gerrard, who is often the subject of the abuse of the Old Trafford faithful whenever the two sides meet.

This week, Gerrard announced that he’ll be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, but another rather bizarre confession was made by the Scouser who is expected to make the switch to the MLS in the summer.

“Up until the age of eight I could have supported anyone.”

“When I was younger I had all kinds of different kits: Tottenham, Norwich, Real Madrid, Barcelona… I even had a United kit.” Gerrard admitted whilst speaking to FourFourTwo.

Thankfully he picked the Red of Liverpool over the Red of Manchester United, and fifteen years later the England international still doesn’t have a league title to his name…
