Louis van Gaal and Man Utd to hold ‘imminent talks’ about star striker

Manchester United made a huge deadline day swoop to bring the Columbian hit man Radamel Falcao to the club back in the summer. However after a swift starts, things rapidly went downhill for El Tigre, and United now look unlikely to sign him permanently.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Van Gaal and Edward Woodward are to hold crucial talks about the 29-year old, as they discussion whether or not to sign him for good.

Falcao would cost Manchester United somewhere in the region of £40million, and when you couple that with the £300,000-a-week wages he’d command, it would be a huge risk, even for a club as finically secure as United.

That money could be spent much better elsewhere, and you could probably bring in two, or even three players who can come in and make an impact with those wages and transfer fee.

It was an exciting move when United brought Falcao in, but sadly it hasn’t happened for him and its in everyone’s best interests if he were to move on.
