Louis van Gaal deal could collapse

Manchester United’s pursuit of Louis van Gaal could collapse, due to the fact that the 62-year old coach wants all his own staff members to join him; Replacing the Class of ’92. The United board want Butt, Scholes, Neville and Giggs to stay, and this could prove to be a stumbling block.

According to the usually reliable Telegraph, the deal could collapse and Manchester United will then go all out to bring Carlo Ancelotti in as manager, despite the Italian ruling himself out of the running and claiming that he wants to stay at Real Madrid for years.

Van Gaal wants to bring in Patrick Kluivert and Danny Blind as his assistants, Franks Hoek as his goalkpeeing coach and it is believed he’d like to bring his physiotherapist and his analyst, leaving little or no room for any other staff members.

This is a tough situation for the United board, because they need a big name manager like Van Gaal to take over, but in an ideal world they’d be able to find the space for The class of ’92, who could well become an integral part of the club for the foreseeable future.

I cannot see Ancelotti leaving Madrid anytime soon, so the only other viable option is to make Ryan Giggs the permanent manager, although that is a huge risk.

  1. I think Scholes would be the best as assistant and future manager learning from Van Gaal. Scholes has that Ancelotti type of personality with him. Sad it will not happen as long as Giggs is there :-)
