Manchester United Football Club came away with a hard-fought three points this afternoon, with Bastian Schweinsteiger scoring as we approached injury time. In the same game, there were concerns as James Wilson wasn’t even named on the bench, but now we know why.
“I put Marcus Rashford on the bench today who is a fantastic talent but James Wilson has more experience. He has a knee injury.” Louis van Gaal said.
Its a shame for Wilson personally. It was his big chance to get involved with the team once again and get some minutes under his belt, but by a cruel turn of fate he found himself injured and unavailable for selection.
Hopefully this isn’t a serious issue because as we’ve seen the chances will come for the young man, particularly as our front line looks so thin on the ground at the moment.
There is also a special mention for Marcus Rashford, who has impressed for the youth teams and more than earned his place on the bench.
