Louis van Gaal explains why Ashley Young didn’t play against Bournemouth

Manchester United lost their second game of the week last evening, with Louis van Gaal’s side looking extremely poor in the 2-1 defeat away at Bournemouth. One man who was left out of action was Ashley Young, and that was a bit of a bizarre decision in the fans eyes.

However, after the game the Iron Tulip explained the logic as to why Ashley Young didn’t feature whatsoever, and the Dutchman put it down to a lack of match fitness.

“In training he had a feeling that he was not fit enough.” Louis van Gaal said.

It seems a bit bizarre as he hasn’t come off the back of an injury, he just hasn’t played. Honestly, Ashley Young must be wondering what he has to do to get back into the side, because the likes of Nick Powell (who probably has even less match rhythm), and Andreas Pereira were both picked ahead of Young…
