Louis van Gaal explains why confidence is low at Manchester United

Manchester United have been through barren patch at the moment, with Louis van Gaal’s side without a win in eight outings. The Dutchman met the media ahead of the game against Swansea City this weekend, and explained why confidence is low amongst the players.

“When you’ve not won for a number of games, the players’ confidence is low.” Van Gaal said. “Then the support from the stands give the team that extra boost.”

“But the aim is to put smiles back on the faces of the staff, the players and the fans.”

At the end of the day, if Manchester United can somehow string a few wins together, the fans will slowly get back on board. Its now down to Louis van Gaal to motivate the players, and they in turn have to back him.

If Manchester United can win this weekend it would be a good starting point, but you feel that nothing short of three points will do if the Iron Tulip is to keep his job.
